Canberra Auctions Steady Over Election Week as Fraser Property Sees Solid Interest

Election week didn’t slow Canberra’s auction market, with both weekend and midweek sales drawing keen competition. Across the city, agents noted healthy turnout and competitive bidding, even as voters headed to the polls.

Among the headline results was our own standout success at 6 Nott Street, Fraser, which sold under the hammer for $1.366 million.

Jonny led the campaign and said interest had been strong from the outset.

“We had more than 70 groups through the opens, and six registered bidders showed up on the day,” Jonny shared.

“The auction kicked off at $1 million and quickly gained momentum, with 65 bids placed over 35 minutes.

At one stage two of the underbidders dropped out but returned offering bids as low as $50.”

6 Nott Street, Fraser,a fully renovated and sitting on a 994sqm RZ2-zoned block, offered spacious family living just minutes from Dunlop, Charnwood and Kippax Fair. It’s a reminder that well-presented properties in the right locations continue to inspire solid buyer demand even in the midst of election day uncertainties.

It wasn’t just our team making waves on Saturday. Around Canberra, strong sales painted a broader picture of buyer energy.

  • Anthony McCormack of Hayman Partners saw five bidders carry 41 Buntine Crescent, Isaacs, to $1.873 million.
  • Obi Shadmaan from The Property Collective noted seven active bidders on 39 McLachlan Crescent, Weetangera, taking it to $2.04 million.
  • Ray Moon of Independent Property Group reported nine bidders for the seven-bedroom home at 47 Hurtle Avenue, Bonython, selling at $1.3 million.

The Market’s Active and So Are We.

For our team, the Fraser result reflects what we’re seeing more broadly: engaged buyers, strong competition, and a market that rewards well-prepared campaigns.
